Celepsa releases hydrobiological data from the second Capillucas dam maintenance in 2018
Friday, March 23rd, 2018- Celepsa completed the second maintenance of the Capillucas Dam of 2018 on Monday, March 19th, 2018, in accordance with the information supplied and on the confirmed date. In this regard, the company shares the results of the hydrobiological monitoring that it developed before, during, and after this activity required for the operation of El Platanal Hydroelectric Power Plant and aimed at recovering the storage capacity of the Capillucas Dam, with the authorization of the Production Directorate of GORE Lima.
The findings of the hydrobiological monitoring, as in the previous activity, showed that the river shrimp, which is in the reproduction phase (closed season) until March 31st, reacted positively and within what is expected in flood season events.
Hydrobiological data were evaluated to define and quantify changes before, during, and after the Capillucas Dam maintenance, determining that aquatic life in the Cañete River was protected. Both shrimp and fish were determined to be in good condition before, during, and after the maintenance, as evidenced by their movement and healthy physical appearance throughout the operation.
It should be highlighted that the hydrobiological monitoring was carried out in collaboration with shrimp farmers at stations located in Catapalla, Socsi, Fortaleza, and Pampilla, the principal shrimp sampling points during this time of year, as these sectors contain 90% of the shrimp population.
Finally, the organization expresses its readiness to collaborate, communicate, and provide clear information.
