Safe water

We diligently and responsibly manage water resources by regulating them with infrastructure that reduces the impact of runoff overflow during the rainy season. During the dry season, it provides a constant flow of water that averages 6 m3/s more than before the infrastructure. We also promote water consolidation through large-scale catchment activities, such as wetland conservation, planting promotion, water harvesting, and others.

Climate action

One of humanity's greatest challenges is climate change. While global commitments and actions by companies, organizations and countries have increased, they are still not enough to stop it.

At Celepsa, we know that we can act as an agent of change and transform the way we do business within our role in the energy industry and other sectors. That is why we decided that all our actions will accelerate the planet's decarbonization.

Managing our carbon emissions

Knowing our corporate carbon footprint, we manage our emissions and identify new opportunities to reduce them in our operation and value chain.
Our reduction initiatives include: operational efficiencies, replacement of lighting fixtures, renewable self-generation to supply auxiliary services, migration to electric transportation, incorporation of waste into other production chains, extension of the useful life of assets, among others.

Our hydroelectric power plants are carbon neutral

In line with our brand purpose, we are committed to offsetting 100% of our direct and indirect carbon emissions by neutralizing our hydroelectric operations.

We confirmed this commitment with a carbon neutral certificate issued by an international certification body. This certificate guarantees compliance with international standards and the strictest due diligence processes. We will continue to uphold this commitment going forward.

Investing in key ecosystems

Considering the vulnerability of our operations to climate change effects in the country, we are investing in the protection of key ecosystems, such as wetlands. These ecosystems provide carbon sequestration services and water security through planting and water harvesting programs linked to livestock management.

Driving technological innovation

We promote innovation spaces for entrepreneurship and solutions that enable the advancement of energy sector technologies necessary for the transition.

We are sponsors of Energízate Perú, a contest that promotes innovation in the energy sector; and Kon Team, a UTEC project that promotes sustainable mobility and innovation by building energy efficient vehicles.

CELEPSA CARBON-NEGATIVE COMMITMENT

Triple C Distinctive

In the face of the climate crisis, we seek to extend our climate commitment to other sectors and civil society as a whole. To achieve this, we develop actions that impact all our spheres of action. This starts with our operations and continuing with our value chain, our customers, the country and the planet. This commitment is tangible with the Triple C label: Celepsa Carbon Negative Commitment, which aims to join efforts for Peru to reach its carbon neutrality goal before 2050, certifying that our customers consume carbon neutral energy. With this motivation, we want to eliminate carbon emissions. We create a movement that encourages all actors in society to take actions that ultimately impact all our spheres of action.
