The fact is that executive mothers bring unique skills to the workplace, such as problem solving, commitment, dedication and a different perspective on decision making, to name a few.

In that sense, and commemorating Mother's Day, Patricia Medina, Human Management Manager of Celepsa, a company of the Unacem Group, shares some skills that executive mothers are demonstrating to change the dynamics in the world of work:

  • Time management skills: Due to the multiple tasks mothers perform daily, they tend to organize and manage their time better. These characteristics are reflected in the workplace where they maximize the company's hours and resources; further enhancing their multitask ability.

  • Leadership ability and high empathy level: Executive mothers usually have a good leadership profile that combines with their level of empathy, good communication. This means that they know the needs of their teams. They ensure that they have the tools and support they need to do their jobs effectively and efficiently.

  • Projection to mentor: Executive moms also seek out opportunities to mentor and mentor others, so they continue to grow professionally. They also share their experience and knowledge with their team, especially with other women, which allows them to pave the way for other women in the workplace and demonstrate that it is possible to be a mother and have a successful career at the same time, promoting gender equality.

"Before, being a mother was seen as a barrier or obstacle to progress in a professional career; however, today companies consider it valuable to have female personnel on their staff. Celepsa recognizes the value of being a mother and a collaborator. This is because we recognize the value of diversity in the workforce and the contribution it brings to the organization," said Medina.
