Press release: Coordinated work in the face of rising river flows

In view of the persistent rains in the upper part of the province of Yauyos that are increasing the flow of the river and causing damage to the populations located on its banks, Celepsa is coordinating with local leaders to jointly address this situation. Celepsa is also coordinating with the Cañete Board of Users to support the defense and maintenance of the canals it manages, which have been affected.

It is important to emphasize that the flow increases are due to these extraordinary rainfall conditions and not due to a condition or maneuver of the El Platanal Hydroelectric Power Plant, which can be seen in the following link: Putinza Hydrology

We reiterate our request to the population to take the respective measures for their safety.

We invite you to continue to be informed of the situation of the Cañete River through official publications of public institutions such as Civil Defense (INDECI) in order not to generate anxiety in the population.
