The river shrimp is no longer available
According to Ministerial Decision No. 616-2017 PRODUCT, the Ministry of Production has issued a shrimp ban from January 3rd to March 31st, 2018. As a result, commercialization, extraction, transportation, sale of food, and storage of this rare species on national territory is strictly forbidden during this time period.
Local authorities in the Cañete river basin - Regional Government of Lima, District Municipality of Lunahuana, National Police and Prosecutor's Office for Crime Prevention - the shrimp trade and associations, and Celepsa have been cooperating through the River Shrimp Control and Surveillance Program, deploying inopinate operations along the entire river, in restaurants and markets, as well as other actions aimed at the species' care during reproduction.
